Goldspun Support started life in 2014 as Spinning Plates Business Support. A decade of corporate experience, small business know-how and a lot of hard graft later, it's grown into a holistic support offering built specifically around how fractional and independent directors actually work.

Our story
Goldspun Support was founded by our CEO, Danielle Thompson, originally operating as Spinning Plates Business Support. The business grew out of her corporate background across business, logistics, marketing and creative roles, combined with years spent working directly alongside small business owners.
For the first eight years, Danielle ran the business on her own, building the customer base and reputation organically while developing her own skills: website builders, tech platforms, email marketing systems and social media management. By the time the business had reached capacity, and her children had reached an age where they needed her a little less, she started bringing in team members to support client work, and the wider Spinning Plates team was born.
Over the following two years, that team grew to meet client expectations across three strands: a Virtual Assistant (VA) service covering administration and organisation, an Online Business Manager (OBM) service for strategy and actionable plans, and a social media management service.
In 2024, Danielle decided it was time to bring the business fully in line with her vision and values, and to focus it specifically on Fractional Directors, offering outsourced director-level support to SMEs across the world. That's how Goldspun Support came to be: a holistic service supporting Fractional and Independent Directors, CMOs, CFOs, COOs and more, in helping their businesses take flight.
