I have always been told that I am resilient and I although (I think) it was meant as a compliment it has always felt like a recognition of all the things I’ve been through… and it’s been a bumpy ride.
I wanted to write a book that would allow me to turn some of the less-than-enjoyable things that has happened to me over the last (cough cough) 40 something years into a valuable gift for other people. You see, I know what’s it like to struggle, I know what’s it’s like to not feel goo enough or to struggle with self confidence, I know what it’s like to feel like the whole world is against you… and I hate the thought of anyone else feeling this way.
The I in Resilience is a book of two different parts.
Part one is the story of (some of) my personal journey - but it’s not just self indulgence for the sake of it, I want to show people what triggers and trauma can look like and feel like and I want them to feel comfortable talking about: destigmatising the conversation around struggling.
The bulk of the book though is a a set of tools and exercises that can genuinely help you understand how you feel (and why) and what steps you can take to change your mindset and build resilience in yourself.
This is the book for anyone who knows how important it is to get back up again after falling down - and for anyone who thinks they don’t have strength to do so.

“Loved this book. Danielle always has a unique way of relating to different situations and providing insight on how you can use the skills to support yourself. I found it very easy to read and hard to put down. A perfect reminder that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish!”
